Body weight

For many people the scales decide whether they are happy with their figure or not,
whereby a so-called ideal weight or at least normal weight is often aimed at.

The best-known formula calculates this standard weight on the basic of height as follow :

>> normal weight ........................... height in centimeters minus 100
>> ideal weight for women ............. normal weight minus 15%
>> ideal weight for men .................. normal weight minus 10%

The formula, developed by Broca,
reflects an ideal whose relevance in accordance with waht we know 2day can only applied 2 a limited extant.
Although "more precise" calculation methods have in the meantime become accepted,
the impression give by ur reflection in the mirror should primarily be of greater relevance than what the scale tells u.
However, many people find it helpful 2 be able 2 make a comparison to certain standard ratings.

These rating also include the so-called Body Mass Index (BMI),
the proportional body fat and also to a certain extent the waist to hip ratio.

Body Mass Index (BMI)
The BMI takes into consideration the dependence of body weight on the body surfacr area, which,
in the opinion of recognized experts,
supplies a for more useful standard than the calculation formula of Broca.

BMI = current weight (kg) / body height [in m(2)].
Example : a man who weight 80 kg and is 1.75m tall has a BMI of : 80/1.75 (2) = 26.12.

BMI Rating :-
                                         Women               Men
underweight.....................  <19                    <20
normal weight..................  19-24                 19-25
overweight......................   >24                    >25
adipose (obese)...............  >30                    >30
highly overweight.............  >40                    >40

U can interpret ur individual rating on the basis of the following table.
The following ratings are only of limited relevance when the water distribution deviates highly,
that is,
caused through illness, as well as for children and senior citizens.

How was urs ^^
